Biography
Nick B has always been dominated by Electronic Music. The true sounds of digital components and effects regenerate his power. Born in 1986, he grew up in West-Germany where he discovered the clean, but powerful dance music of the nineties. Later on the experimental and catchy synthesized melodies of Kraftwerk blew up his mind. This music was revolutionary with simple lyrics, bass lines and harmony within the whole composition.
When Nick B came back to Belgium at the age of 13 he kept his addiction for Electronic Music alive. A few years later he discovered Techno. This music soon attracted his attention because of the abundance of percussive, synthetic sounds and studio effects used as principal instrumentation. The 4/4 loops were hypnotising him.
In the summer of 2004 he bought his first turntables, mixer and records. The idea of spinning records in front of a large crowd became one of his largest dreams.
Later on he started his own deejay team together with Piocho. Their baby was named Psychobass. They threw great parties with an alternative sound, but the team didn’t last long. After 2 years they decided to split up and go their own ways. The feeling of throwing parties was not pleasing enough for Nick B, because of its commercial surrounding. Nick B decided to go more underground.
Besides looking for the best Techno across the globe, he also began to produce his own tunes with software programs like Fruity Loops 4, Reason 3.0 and Ableton Live 6. He used Electrobel.be to spread his music in Belgium. His experience grew and later on he was asked to do a remix for U&Me. They liked his “Nick B Re.Vision” and it was put on U&Me’s own label Wanted Music 001. The first vinyl of Nick B was released.
At the moment Nick B is still an active producer and deejay. He developed his style into a mix of pure driven Techno, clacking Minimal and acoustic Detroit with Old Skool elements. He wants to concentrate on his sets to give his audience an ultimate experience. Some of his favourite artists are: Richie Hawtin, Dominik Eulberg, Michel de Hey, Trish van Eynde, Marco Bailey, Stanny Franssen, Anthony Rother, Ellen Allien, Kraftwerk, Björk, Dave Ellesmere, and many more …
